Greetings Readers,
First I would want to point out the two deadly internal struggles for power in progress are classic examples of civil wars as any throughout history. The discontented and oppressed raise up in an attempt to overthrow a callous uncaring status-quo holding power. The ethnic and religious nature of these two conflicts do stand out from others, but not significantly once analyzed. Most civil wars are based and fought for economic reasons. I have more than a suspicion these are the underlying motives no different than in any other civil war. Religion and ethnic differences have always been used as scapegoats by powerful instigators to further their own objectives.
