Dear Readers,
Before I begin let me first attempt to clarify a few misnomers concerning the Israel-Palestine issue. It is a decidedly important matter of plain language and how words and definitions are badly miss used in these so-called “Peace Negotiations.”
The first word is “Conflict.” The Israel-Palestine conflict. There is no conflict here. A conflict is between two nations of near equal economic and military strength with defined territories and armies. The Palestinians have none of these and have never had them. There is no two nations involved in this dispute, only one Israel. The other party is composed of four point five million poor Arabs living perpetually in fear, on the defense in their own land that was once theirs 60 years ago, a homeland. The Palestinians have no country, no state, no army or control over their boarders, no seaports, authorized airspace, and unconditionally no freedom of speech or press. Zionist Israel is the only nation involved in these conflicted U.S. sponsored negotiations. Israel is the powerful one with international recognition that is completely supported financially, militarily, and politically in every possible way by its sole benefactor, the United States of America. The four million Palestinians have only handouts provided by the U.N.
The second word is “Peace Process.” What peace process is this? Talks have been going on for 30 years with no results. Imagine if you will for a moment of a prisoner negotiating a peace process with his jailer, a warden or a guard? The prisoner can only ask and beg for a few crumbs of change, never for freedom. justice or equality. Therefore, the peace process is a sham to deliberately buy time for the Israelis to build additional settlements and cantonments to enhance their decades-long land grab. Finally this brings me to the last word “negotiations.” How can a prisoner negotiate with the very prison that controls his space, water, food, and the very safety of his life? A Jailer, Israel, has economically exploited prisoner and his people. There is no bargaining chip. And there is no level playing field, if there ever was one. This process of carrot and stick, wind and smoke, torture and oppresson, of the Palistinian people will go on for the forseeable future.
In the words of David Ben Gurion, the first Minister of Israel who predicted his new nation could be headed for potentially long term disaster said so susinctly in 1850: “I don’t understand your optimism. Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is realistic. We have taken their country. Sure God promised us this land, what does that matters to them? Our god is not their God. We fled Israel 2000 year ago and there has been anti-semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschurwitz, but was that their fault? They only see we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that? They may forget in one or two generations or in time, but at the moment there is not chance. It is simple we must stay strong and maintain a powerful army. Our whole policy is there, or the Arabs will wipe us out.
For both sides is’s a matter of survival, but two wrong dom’t make a right.
Alls the best.
