It’s difficult to acquire accurate figures concerning national military strength. Often the figures are varied and contradictory on Google sites. Reportedly Turkey has 500,000 soldiers, and purportedly other figures are as high as 664.049 under arms.
Although heavy fighting is at their doorstep between ISIS and the Kurdish Pishmerga the Turks have not committed or entered the battle. Turkey is not alone. Overall there has been no significant offer of troops by any of the Gulf States and it seems to be that Iraqis and the Pismerga will be the only armies actively engaged in fighting on the ground. This is a disaster for the Obama coalition’s attempt to win the war against radical determined ISIS terrorists in a timely manner.
