Greetings Readers,
I happened to view an interview a few days ago of the retiring Israeli Defense Force Commander, Benny Gantz. The General has spent nearly four decades in the service of his country.
A good-looking wholesome fellow who speaks polished English and certainly in his professional capacity attended several advanced military staff colleges in the U. S. and proudly walked Pentagon floors as a genuine Israeli hero. When Christian Amanpour questioned Gantz, she asked “You’ve been accused by a the U. N. and other agencies of war crimes, particularly in Gaze (2,228 Palestinians deaths, of which 40% were women and children vs. 67 Israeli deaths) and they’re currently investigating, what do you say?” Gantz replied “We do not need to be investigated by anyone, Israel can investigate it selves, we do not need the U. N. to investigate us.” Not surprising at all, it is typical of Israel government officials……

Israel investigating its own atrocities? Isn’t that like sending a rabbit to the grocery store to buy a head of lettuce, or assigning a fox to guard the chicken coop? Why does the U. S, take this trash without comment from a so-called “Ally” that long ago worn out its usefulness, and to whom we support each year with billions of taxpayer dollars? I know why and by this time you should too. But let’s go back in time.
When did the United States go wrong in the Middle East? How did our status plunge from admiration, and to put it mildly, to a debacle of distrust and suspicion? At the turn of the nineteenth century America was acclaimed and well thought of in the Middle East. Yes, many remembered there existed a long-held resentments predicated by the Crusades a thousand years before; Yet, by and large America was admired and respected as one of the “Good” nations far over the horizon of which little was known.
After WWI the British and French redrew the boundaries with in the Middle East territories in alignment with their colonial grasps as victors. The two nations haughtily rejected requests by ethic-tribal societies in Syria, Iraq, Iran, and the Arabian Peninsula demanding smaller independent states and an overall fledging empowerment of an Arab Union. The United States gladly took no part in the random divisions and colonization of Middle East interests. In the 1930’s with oil discoveries in Saudi Arabia and Iran the U. S. was tolerated as a strange foreign country, but welcomed as an oil consumer. America kept a peaceful low profile.
In May 1945 President Roosevelt, while occupying a wheelchair on the USS Navy destroyer Murphy, met with the Saudi Arabian King, ibn. Saud. FDR surmised there would be a beneficial long-term economic partnership with the oil rich East. The U. S. was at the time becoming an oil exporter, but prudently looked to the probability of future requirements, and beside could act as broker to sell Middle East oil to Europe and Asia. The two nations shortly initiated diplomatic and business relations that progressed satisfactorily until domestic policies, Zionist influence, and sympathies for the Holocaust intervened.
In 1948 Harry Truman approved and supported recognition for the State of Israel. The purely political move was unpopular. Truman’s decision went against the advice of many of his closest advisors. Opposed were, to mention a few, Secretary of State, George Marshall, a later Secretary of State James Forrestal, and Under Secretary of State Dean Atcheson. Dozens of Defense and State Department officials were vehemently against Israel’s nationhood to include officials of the newly formed Central Intelligence Agency.
In 1947 the CIA reported “ Zionist Leadership was pursuing objectives that would endanger both Jews and the strategic interests of the Western powers in the Near and Middle East.” These wise advisors and their agencies understood realistically that support for Israel would undermine relations with all Middle Eastern countries. For the United States it was down hill thereafter. The U. S. never regained it’s lost creditability and prestige in the years that followed. (No matter what you’ve read in the Media)
Against Our Better judgement accurately describes numerous instances of intimidation, lobbying, infiltration, and excessive political pressures that ruined several diplomatic careers with accusations of anti-Semitism for opposing questionable Zionists objectives. To name two, Middle Eastern Affairs Ambassador Henry Floyd Grady, and an aclaimed diplomat Lloyd Henderson were among the casualties. Henderson’s family was harassed and physically threatened. At the behest of Zionists elements within the U. S. government and outside it, Henderson was unceremoniously transfered to Nepal. He predicted in this bio., The Recognition of Israel would impair U. S. interests by loss of prestige and Zionist-Israel’s implementation by force would not be based on any principles and would jeopardize the future of the West in the Middle East.”
The main objective of worldwide Zionism,, and israel currently, is to create a state that is composed entirely of Jews. For a century the Zionist have encouraged proliferation of Jews to ensure immigration to the Palestine territories. Thus the increased population will allow the Jews to claim authority over Palestine for the state of Israel. Currently Arabs who occupy “Israel’s land” are slated to eventually in future years to depart from it one way or another, either on foot or in coffins.
At the signing of the Belfour agreement in 1917 Jews owned only a meager percentage of the territory and their strategy to purchase land had not been successful. Moslems and Christians owners refused to sell and Zionist turned to every other means available at their disposal to acquire or occupy the land, including European campaigns to enhance immigration to the promised land of redemption. The Zionists utilized public meetings, advertising, propaganda, deceitful lies, violence and force to increase Jews to immigrate.
In the 1930’s Hugh Gibson became the Ambassador to Poland. The diplomat soon found reports filed with of Anti-Semitism that were either fraudulent or wildly exaggerated and reported such to Washington. The two leading Jews in the government at the time Supreme Court Justice Brandeis and soon to achieve Justice status, attorney Felix Frankfurter summoned Gibson and threatened to depose his Ambassadorship if he did not cease reporting the facts as he saw them. Gibson agreed to toe the line despite his reports being valid. During the 1930’s Zionist assisted the Nazis to sort out and force Jew to immigrate to the Palestine territories. Zionist leader Ben-Gurion was aware of the tactic and would eventually become the first President of Israel. As a true believer Zionist Ben-Gurion enthusiastically supported similar programs throughout Europe and the Middle East.
FDR and the British in 1938 and again 1941 offered safe haven to European Jews but were rebuffed by the Zionists leadership because the list of safe countries did not include Palestine. This act of humanitarian aid was diminished and crippled by Zionist; therefore, sentencing their own people to slavery and death under the Nazi regime. Collusion between the Nazis and Zionist to sort out Jews for Palestine immigration was concealed although collaboration was common in the 1930’s. The scandalous issue surfaced in the later 1940’s in a review by the Israeli Parliament that led to a temporary ‘No confidence’ shutdown of the government. With the Nazi final solution ordered in 1941 the agreement between the two parties collapsed, but it was far too late for many Jews to escape their fate.
Israel historian Tom Segeve writes of the period ‘Israel was born of terror, war and revolution, and its creation required a measure of fanaticism and cruelty. The passing of the partition resolution in November 1947 triggered the violence that the U. S. State Department and Pentagon analysis had predicted and for which Zionist had been preparing. There were at least 33 massacres of Palestinians villages, half of them before a single Arab army soldier joined in the conflict. Zionist forces were better equipped and had more men under arms than their opponents. By the end of the short war of Israeli independence over 750,000 Palestinians, including men, women, and children were ruthlessly expelled from their homes, lands, and businesses. The massacres and other atrocities are refered to and gruesomely described in the book. Sixty days of deadly clearing of the land by blowing up houses, lining up whole families and executing them, murdering young children by crushing their skulls with rods, raping and then killing young student women. I won’t dwell on these infuriating inhuman episodes of which there were many and nightmarish.
The Zionist had succeeded in the first half of their plan: Establishment of Israel, the self-described Jewish State, came into existence thanks to the United States. More massacres other atrocities, deceptions and suppression were to follow in the months and years after. Two massacres in particular need to be addressed here, that were among the first Deir Yassin and Dawyima where hundreds were killed. The villages attacked by Zionist militias in coordination with main Zionist forces. The heads of the two militias in the coordinated operations, Menachen Begin and Yitzhak Sharmir, later to become Prime Ministers of Israel.
The aforementioned is merely a small part of the events that transpired. Should the Reader wish to acquire a formidable knowledge of the preliminaries for the establishment of Israel and what regrettably occurred, I highly recommend a quick read of this short but excellent tome: Against Our Better Judgement, subtitled, The hidden history of how the U. S. was used to create Israel. This volume is painstakingly researched, and dramatically absorbing. You won’t be able to put it down as the story draws sadness and serious mischief with the turning of every page.
All the Best.
Ron.
A further note: JFK, Clark Clifford, Gore Vidal, and well as others have related the story during Harry Truman’s Whistle Stop Campaign, a suitcase containing two Million Dollars was delivered to Truman’s train by two Jewish gentlemen. Readers may recall the presidential race was one the the tightest in U. S. history. Underdog Truman surprisingly, unexpectedly, pulled it off at the last moment, and Israel became a nation. Candidate Dewy agreed to Israel’s recognition but was less inclined.

Greetings Readers,
In my spare time during slow afternoons, or at four o’clock in the morning, I reread chapters of a very interesting book published a few year ago that I believe did not sell well in-spite of a great deal of extensive dedicated research and excellent writing. It has a great descriptive cover, President Lyndon Johnson and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara conferring at the beginning of the Vietnam war in 1964-1965. The volume is Dereliction of Duty, by H. R. Masters.
It is a highly detailed summary of just how the U. S, became involved in one of the most tragic misbegotten wars in modern history. The book’s period of disclosure ends unfortunately in July 1965, but covers important material that may blow the mind for those who were not born at the time or more likely have forgotten the events leading up to the disastrous quagmire costing…

The book’s period of disclosure ends unfortunately in July 1965, but covers important material that may blow the mind for those who were not born at the time or more likely have forgotten the events leading up to the disastrous quagmire costing the lives of 58,000 Americans and as many a 4,000,ooo Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians. The volume identifies and elaborates on the lies, deceptions, incompetents, stupidity, and political and military infighting that drew the U. S. into a war the could and should have been easily avoided.
The book details these few important years and the strategic and tactical moves by the Johnson Administration. Reading of confused and ever-changing positions one wonders whether to laugh or cry. The president and his brain-trust friends, Robert McNamara, Generals Maxwell Taylor, William Westmoreland, the brothers William and Mc George Bundy, Dean Rusk, Henry Cabot Lodge, and a mix of two dozen others led themselves into knowledge of preliminary defeat that became self prophesying. In the mid-sixties these men determined the conflict was unwinnable, but kept the beliefs to themselves, and from the American public. The only outstanding dissenter in the group was Under Secretary of State, George W. Ball, the devil’s advocate, who from the earliest moments advised the Johnson Administration to ‘leave it to the Vietnamese, and slowly withdraw.’ Ball was of the opinon there was no such valid dogma as the ‘Domino Theory’ and no danger thereof. Intervention would be worthless, he said, if not disastrous and best we logistically support Vietnam from a distance.
Estimates for a successful prosecution of the war were then 750,000 troops and five to ten years of fighting although presidential advisors did not provide LBJ with these true essential facts necessary for good judgement. They were too loyal to the president and did not want to appear to Congressional leaders to give the country away to Ho Chi Minh. They often held back their true opinions.
I can visualize should the war evolve into desperate stages in the following years with casualties mounting, becoming too costly in blood and treasure our leaders would consider dropping the bomb on the third poorest country, and most war-torn, on earth composed of mostly destitute farmers and crippled veterans. ‘Those that do not know history are doomed to repeat it’ as we did in Iraq II.
All the Best.
