Greetings Readers,
I’ve sent dozens of these short grams to friends and acquaintances. I felt they were too short a piece to place as an article on the blog. Herewith is a timely example of one concerning our current Middle East policy:
FOx and other right-wing organizations are constantly castigating the White House for the absence of leadership in the fight against ISIS and other similar Muslim insurgents thought out the world. Sometime no hard-core strategy is as good as a “Wait and See” strategy. The Syrian-Iraq-Kurdish- Caliphate civil war is fluid developing and changes month to month. We are in for the long haul.
The Iraqi army has not lived up to our or their original expectations, but with training and time it will be a match for the fanatical motivated ISIS forces. The U. S., its allies, including to a very minimum extent Shiite Iran, can take on and defeat ISIS militarily on the battle field and bring the Caliphate to the negotiating table. The task may take years, a decade, but ultimately be successful. Let’s get our heads out of the sand, the organization, the Caliphate, will not just go away. The evil empire’s presence that it ascribe to is here to stay in one nationalistic form or another.
I admire leaderships, but when it is committed to supporting never ending conflict and war as most Republicans do, I draw the line. We have been there and done that, leading to an outcome of tragic result.
I just saw a smiling confident Mitt Romney interviewed on FOx and he advocates a stepped-up initiative in the fight by U. S. means against terrorism and other kinds of insurgency. More, more, aditional adviser’s boots on the ground trainers, special forces and target acquisition personnel. Moreover, Romney states we should assist African and Middle East countries with our military counter insurgency presence.
Let’s not make the mistake of going in with military might. So easy to get into and so difficult to get out of. We have been there and done that several times with tragic results. Take note, no American soldier has yet died in this conflict, and we hope none will be a casualty. As I said, been there, done that.
All the Best.
Ron Miller.

Simple solution to Fox and the war hawks in congress…. Lead by example … in other words take up arms and fight on the front lines in Iraq to stop ISIS or other terrorists. Bring you kids with you so they can see how things should be done as you so eloquently state in broadcasts and de-rate Obama for his lack of leadership. Get out there and everyone how it should be done.
