    • Notes off the Shabby Cuff. !!

      Greetings Readers,

Have had difficulty with my computer and the server last week trying to get this out, Still better late than never ever, so here it goes again with an update. These are items gleaned from Asian news networks at may have been neglected or not given full exposure in the U. S. Media.

      * The North Korean Foreign Minister stated, "North Korea has no intention to harm the United States." nd across the Autumn leafed DMZ a sign was erected by the North " We are sorry." Hmm! What is this? A ploy? Has the North finally come to its senses and realized their strategy is impractical, dangerous, and destructive in their own best interests. Stand by because one never knows with those guys.

      * Israel authorizes lethal free fire against Palestinian stone-throwers. That's nice.

      * Pope speaks to the UN in New York and is on way to Philadelphia and home to the Vatican: China's XI s in Washington to confer with President Obama, India's Modi is someplace in California to talk-up business, Yes the U. S. is the place to go to get things done. Obama, no matter what the Republicans say, is
extremely popular with world leaders and their populations in general.

      * Chinese plane "unsafe distance" from U. S. spy aircraft, says the Pentagon. There may be a little
humor in the dispatch. Was this trip necessary?

      * Have you notices none of the presidential candidates have served in the military, or heard a short fired
in anger? Ever, never, been in jungle mud? The last three were Harry Truman, Ike Eisenhower, and
the senior George Bush. George W. Bush? Forget it.

      * Russia could join the official anti-ISIS coalition if conditions are met. The Russian Federation is also
currently two bases in Syria. Supposedly Russian fighters "sneaked" into Syria. Hey, isn't that' Russia's
sphere of influence similar to the U. S's., South America and North America our bailiwick, as well as
China, Chinese's islands in the China Sea, Russia's in Asia minor south of Siberia? Why do we interfere in these regions? Is it our Monroe Doctrine? Yes, of course it's outdated In this day and age and the
document should be rescinded. This is 2015 not 1815 when it had the necessary bite.

      * Iran demands participation in the Hajj stampede inquiry and investigation. Mecca, Media, Mina, and
other centers during the Hajj are holy places for all Muslims, both Sunni and Shiite. Iranian worshipers also lost lives during the tragedy that took 794 worshipers, 479 were Shiite lives.

      * The past several years Putin has quietly pushed aside moderate, conservative, and liberal advisers in favor of his St. Petersburg KGB and military cronies. Thus these appointees are hard-liners that have
advised Putin to occupy the Crimea and to support the Russian nationalist rebellion in East Ukraine.
(While drunk Khrushchev gifted the Ukraine with independence, and the Ukraine's Crimea. (Crimea has
been a part fRussia since the Ice age) The hard-liners have advised Putin to position Russian forces in
Syria to support Assad and ostensible to battle ISIS. Moreover last week Putin visited Belarus and
demanded the NATO member country to allow Russian bases in the country while posing veiled threat
to cut-off natural gas and withdrawal of credits.

      * University of Chicago's professor Henry Morgantau was not the first, but his published pronouncement in 1946 of 'Spheres of National Interest' must have acceptance by competing government as necessary for a peaceful world. In so many words "Hand of my neighbors and "other nations territorial domain."
This has ever been accepted and is ignored by the United States and therefore, we stick our faces into
everyone's business far from our shores our own best interests. These intersphere clashes often lead to
      conflicts and wars.

      * HouseSpeaker Boehner cried during the Pope's speech last week. Was it because of the sad
message during parts of the speech or was it his forthcoming resignation?

      * American companies are hoarding 1.4 trillion dollars. Some say two. Why? I'm sure U. S. consumer do not have sufficient disposable cash to handle corporation's new investments. Even with stepped-up
advertising and innovations the public market has reached its temporary limits to absorb it. The trillion
plus sits for better economic times in the near the future. Gold and silver are good investments in these
times of uncertainty, but don't expect the investment to increase in value as they did from 2006 to 2010. They're already priced pretty high.

      * World leaders pledge the end of poverty in 15 years. Ahha.

      * America a should stand apart from Islands and sands; Pacific's disputed islands, and the sands of theMiddle East. Syria is within the realm of Russia. Moscow may be a long way from Damascus, as
Washington is from Brazil, but one can fly a single-seater, one engine plane from Russian territory on
the Northern border of Turkey and land on Syrian soil in about 4-5 hours. That's pretty close.

      * I believe the U. S. should welcome any and all assistance to defeat the ISL radicals as the conflict
turns sharply into a solely Sunni, Shiite, Christian religious conflict.

      All the Best.

      Ron.
