    • There will Always Be A European NATO

Posted at 9:45 am by ronaldstanleymiller, roguedinosur.wordpress.com, on June 28, 2016

      Greetings Readers,

With the British leaving the European Union, and the Brexit Project going ahead full speed some are wondering how will it affect NATO? Rest assured people the military alliance is not going away anytime soon, if ever.

There will always be a NATO  as long as there is a United States of America. There will always be a NATO as long as there’s a Russian Federation. Should Putin resolve to return his billions in hidden wealth and provide the funds to charity, and becomes a pacifist dedicated to the teachings of Jesus Christ it will have no bearing on the current military deployment. The U. S. in particular must have at all times an enemy, or an adversary or an opponent. It is just plain good common sense for the nation’s economy, for business, for corporations, and for the giant Media composed largely of pandering mercenary “Pressitutes.”

The same goes for Asia. If the China President XI Jinping became a peaceful Buddhist and reduced his military budget by 50% over-night, the U. S. would continue to dictate and support military alliances with at least 15 participating Asian regional countries. There would be no change-up.

Unless the U. S. has substantial, consistent, economic progress at home to occupy ourselves we must have an adversary to energize the World’s Number One Superpower Nation. That’s us. The more dangerous the adversary the better to keep us rolling. It is a must, a necessity, that maintains economic stability.  We don’t covet a recession nor a depression with the possibility of riotus dangerous unemployed people on the streets. A nation’s system must keep people working, moving, preferably on low wages, but employed.

National defense is therefore a big business and absorbs significant human and natural resources in almost every country in the world: Count the Defense Department employees alone, the soldier members, contractors and their bureaucracies. Add intelligence agencies, 16, which interconnect with other Federal departments to keep America tiptop safe. Inclusive is Homeland Security, the National Security Agency, and don’t forget the Eisenhower tag, the whole ball of wax, The Congressional-Military-Industrial Complex.’ It all comes to a grand total of a trillion dollars each and every year. And, by the way, don’t forget those folksy consuming prosperous towns and cities surrounding military camps and facilities, they count too. It’s quite a pile of money for the economy…. and for Jobs.

Heaven forbid should peace break out a couple million jobs would be forsaken almost immediately. Where would the unemployed go? We have reached the age of servitude, of retail, wholesale, service companies, waiters, cooks, cashiers, drivers, maids, and  in the offing are robotics. (I have read 09% of American jobs today are candidates for replacement by robots) For those who are brainy and may look askance at those common mondain jobs, Artificial Intelligence is right around the corner. Your day is coming too, but later.

Without adversaries, whom we challenge as they at time do us, we would have another Great Recession or a 1930’s Depression lasting for at least a decade, or more likely permanently. The unemployed and underemployed would be wandering the streets and boulevards of our cities New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit and Cleveland poorly pensioned with fewer government entitlements. Many will be disoriented, discontent, embittered, hating the rich one percent of the one perce while thinking or planning upheaval or organizing revolution. Those new unwashed would be baffled, perplexed, frustrate and embittered of course. However, do not be overly concerned it may never happen because as you may know it’s just too darn difficult, too hard, to buy a gun in the United States.

      All the Best.

      Ron Miller.

Post script: Readers forgive me. I apologize for being gloomy. I’m writing of an imperfect world of which we are existentially a part, and unfortunately I can’t see it any other way. As the great philosopher Plato once said: ‘Only the dead have seen the last of war.’ It’s in our genes.

      Greetings Readers,

This short item post is mostly about Britain’s surprising vote for departure from the European Union.

      •  Saudi Arabia and the UIE see little Brexit impact on banking.
      •  Asian economies apparently not bothered by the Brexit turmoil.
      •  China, Russia eye closer relations amid Brexit-West turmoil.
      •  ‘Britain leaving EU makes disintegration practically inevitable.’  George Soros
      •  Soros calls for rapid reconstruction of EU after Brexit.
      •  Scotland seeks talks with EU leaders concerning leaving UK
      •  Most European leaders call for swift UK exit for the British.
      •  Brexit opposition split after referendum vote two days ago.
      •  Brexit not a done deal yet until after negotiations. On line anti-petition signatures  total 2.6 million and climbing.
      •  Pound shrinks again to 8% vs. U. S. dollar. (Now is the time to vacation in Great Britain. I’m sure Soros is considering purchasing pounds in view of recovery. He’s made billions in currency speculation)
      • Russian backed Syrian airstrikes kill 31 civilians in western Syria
      • Bernie Sanders will vote for  Clinton in November but will not endorse her.
      • Pope visits Armenian genocide memorial. (Turkey never admitted to the WWII  massacre. Turks cannot discuss the topic under penalty of jail and fine.
      • U. S. fighters back Syrian forces as they nudge into border provinces.
      •  Iraqi  forces declare battle of Fallujah is over.
      •  Panama Canal is set to open new locks for much bigger ships.

      All the Best.
