      Greeting Readers,

The United States may have hundreds perhaps more than a thousand Super F-35 state-of-the-art fighter aircraft by the year 2020, as well as hundreds more sold to NATO and other allies around the world. The aircraft by anyone’s imagination is the best most capable and effective combat flying weapon’s system in the world.

Each one does not come cheap at 100.2 million dollars per copy. A baker’s dozen custom-built for the Navy may cost as much as 500 million each. It is the most expensive weapons system ever devised and currently in development and production.

Who will end up paying for the project: the American taxpayer. But the real winner will be the Lockheed Corporation with expectations to sell at least a couple trillion dollars worth by the end of production, while spreading the good word around the globe the price may be reduced to as low as 85.5 million each for the basic models by 2019. Currently there are F-35s more suited for each organizational requirements and whose forces may need F-35A, B, or C  and or consider I, II, and III, for those most hidden for reasons of stringent security and for dissuading future commercial competitors.

The entire program for U. S. consumption alone will cost, as it presently stands, is 1.8 trillion dollars which is firmed-up by the Pentagon. Currently commitments and orders are being taken up by Britain, France, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Japan, and several more. The Israelis have ordered 20.

Although not at all pleased with the excessive cost the fund could be used for considerably more constructive purposes, for public schools and educational programs, public universities, and long sought after infrastructure work to improve the quality of life for all Americans. Prudently placed aside, living standards, safety nets, for all Americans could be significantly improved or even raised. The amount could well be the beginning of addressing America’s inequality and racial troubles.

The unnecessary quantities spent on weapon’s programs are for one time use and then disposed of, discarded as scrap. whereas the minds of people, our citizens, in particular the young, and the various infrastructure facilities are worth far more in human terms.

The excessive and unnecessary quantities of weapons to be built are much less important than our social well-being. One trillion eight hundred million is a gigantic figure that we believe can be allocated to better use within the American social system and not weapons systems. Currently, there are satisfied winners besides Lockheed, the corporations, the Pentagon, and Wall Street. The stock markets have recently hit all time record highs. My point is this: Why are we overspending so generously on this offensive weapon that leads menacingly to war and the mass destruction of the human race?

The Chinese have one aircraft carrier, we have eleven; the North Koreans have one submarine able to launch missiles from under the sea. We have 60 nuclear  submarines that are armed with nuclear warhead missiles. Russia is on the ropes, economically weak, trapped, despondent, and financially broke. Yet, the American people do not feel safe. Does is not seem strange to the Reader? Is it the Media,  the corporate elite that lead us into these obnoxious efforts to not only defend ourselves, but to destroy ourselves?

The average American combat ready soldier is the envy of any other soldier on earth. His or her equipment and training are the best available anywhere. Not satisfied American generals support and encouraged by corporations, contractors, Congress, and neoconservative warmonger who are motivated by greater profit continue to desire the best most up to date and expensive equipment and arms taxpayer money can buy.

Perhaps I complain too vigorously, too loudly, because I am proud America is a forerunner while defending a freedom-loving nation and its people. Big Money defense, unfortunately,  is not going way any time soon. It’s here to stay. The Military-Industrial-Congressional complex is significantly more powerful and aggressively pervasive to dispense with. I am more than pleased our armed forces are keeping us safe and alive against a cruel uncaring world of potential killers and enemies who want to harm a peaceful people for various spiritual reasons that I deem in some beliefs unreasonable and unrealistically naive. Nevertheless governments and ideologies should be cautious when  one looks into a deep dark abyss because the abyss will be staring right back at you. Readers, with all these expensive toys lying about someone is bound to start playing with them.

Over my earlier years I have had sympathy for Russia due primarily for their WWII struggles. They lost 28 million people during Big One, their war-torn country was devastated and nearly half of all war deaths were inflicted on the Russian. Moreover as the Cold War progressed the country was and as it is today surrounded by lethal American bases in Europe and Asia near, much too near their sphere of political and economic interests. Accordingly, a warmongering hostile American leadership quickly pounce on a mostly destroyed Russia, supported by an elitists claque and its controlling special interests groups. I continue to sympathize with Russia deserving or not because the country is currently threatened by Western hostilities.

For the past three decades I’ve become neutral toward Russia because of its lack of liberty  and take all, grab-all form of government they has adopted and have accepted at the end of the communist era, ending in the early 1990s. People who know history and are thinkers with unhindered minds, not bias ones, will realize Russia is being hectored today by the U. S. and its brother-in-arms the current 27 NATO nations. Russia is on the ropes, as I wrote earlier, it is fully vulnerable and NATO, headed by the U. S.,  desires an exploitable, weak Russia. There is also an extreme neoconservative element  wanting  conflict and possibly a provocative limited war. (Remember Iraq II)  It appears to me this element is desirous to “keep the pot boiling.” After all, we always need enemies to keep the U. S. going tip-top economically, militarily, and socially brain-washed. However, when closely examined we find are enemies are paper tigers in comparison to U. S. A. Iran has not invaded another country in 500 years, China more or less the same, but desperately wanting potential invaders as distant from its borders as is possible. You may reference to the Korean intervention and to Tibet on the Chinese border the last century as exceptions. I apologize for the Russian intervention in Crimea and east Ukraine, but they have been part of Russian territory since the Ice Age. Russia and their  Confederation feel safer if potential enemies do not march within a few miles of their land. We certainly would not want foreign armies based in Canada and Mexico, now would we?

The Israeli Parliament has approved funding of 18 million dollars for the building of 560 new settlement homes and facilities in the occupied West Bank. This is in addition to the 88 million funded each year for security and the maintenance of settlement residents first established in the late 1980s.

Parliament the same week also approved a new law in acting regulations by which all foreign NGO must disclose the source of income contributed or invested in Israel and the West Bank. This law provides the government with legal ability to monitor funds not only for businesses but is aimed at the foreign charities and organizations supporting the liberation of Palestine and advocates of the Two State Solution. Opposition to the new law was headed by Iserc Hersog who has stated ‘The law is another step on the way to an Israel fascist state.’

      All the Best.

      Ron Miller
