Source: A Timely 2016 Campaign Dis & Dat
Greetings Readers,
While guys like us, at least very similar to us, Ralph Nader, Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein, Elizabeth Warren, Paul Craig Roberts, John Perkins, Nancy Graham Holm, Paul Krugman, and hundreds of other progressive minds converse, the Clinton and Trump campaigns roll on. And so too in the meantime the rigged political and economic system remains well attended and goes unabated. This ridiculous year-long campaign provides rather a breather for Wall Street, the banks, and the corporations as they continue to do their ‘Thing’ unhindered, raking in big money daily. For them inside their luxurious offices it’s business as usual. Nothing is changing now nor will it significantly change after this election is over. The special interests and the people-like parties will be contending over unimportant wedge issues and economic scraps.
Clinton or Trump will be giving speeches at the behest of Wall Street’s special interests after it is over in November. They will be playing ‘You scratch my back; I’ll scratch yours’ for corrupted wager and profit games while social safety-nets deteriorate, gridlock-like our schools and roads. And while international conflicts redirect public attention from the real issues of economics in the United States that should be, must be addressed to reset a needed equitable system that is more just and without undue alarm of the outside world.
Check this out, where do we find the money for improvements in schools, universities, repair of worsening infrastructure, the less expensive, more organized, one payer medical program, and the enforcement of laws and regulations by capable people? The answer has been two giant hundreds of billions of dollars give-aways to the drug and insurance industries under two administrations. One unnecessary costly war in the Middle East. The near trillion dollars per year taxpayer write-off and appropriated by politicians for the Pentagon and a multi-mix of security programs, much of them absorbed by waste: The Pentagon has not had a creditable audit in 40 years.
During this silly and over-long campaign public minds are occupied with divisions and diversions often accompanies by nasty innuendos: ‘She’s a bigot, she as lived off minorities for years, her life is a scandals; He, he encourages racism, hatred, and domestic violence; Clinton is a liar and a thief, has been on the inside too long, what can you lose by electing Me? I love children, women , blacks, the Spanish at minimum wage, and of course the Vets, always ready and willing to put “boots on the ground.” Look what Trump and our corporations have done for you, given you jobs. The Democrats ship them overseas, but not us Republicans. No! I want to make America great again.’ Everyday, these dud candidates mince words and contradict themselves.
I don’t quite believe it, but the war of words, often mean and petty, is according to CNN the ‘Nastiest in History.’ That said, the American people have simultaneously fielded two of the worst candidates in 150 years. (Tea Pot Dome) The words of the week are “Lies” and “Flip-Flops.”
These two will say anything, promise anything, do anything to be elected. Remember this is an “Election Year.” They will soon have excuses and amnesia.
No, I don’t want to undermine America’s security or destroy the democratic capitalistic system, the goose that lays our golden egg, I just want to put it on a diet. With a regulated sensible diet one is healthier can function better, and more importantly live longer.
All the Best.
