Greetings Readers,
In response to rumors Obama may propose a new more stringent peace initiative for the Israel-Palestine conflict, 88 senators have sent a letter to the president asking him not to revise the present relationship and fund support provided Israel before he abandons office.
Netanyhu must feel cocky when he shortly meets with Obama in New York. He’s got Obama’s Senate in his pocket. Benjimin is fielding his own criticism at home though, politicians and his own party say poor relations with the U. S. is his fault, and Israel could have gotten a better ten-year military and and economic deal than it did.
You will find categorically as always, Israel is the winner, and we the U. S. is their only friend and patron. Without a doubt the AIPC is the most influential lobby in Washington.
It appears at the moment the U. S. and the Coalition are against Russia, Syria, and Iran… and ISIS is just in the way.
Terrorist bomber Rahami has been charged, or is that recharged, with new transcript words ‘use of weapons of mass destruction.’ Hey, are we going CRAZY or what? The bomb was a homemade-type inside a pressure-cooker and no one was killed. It’s the over-hype by former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s NYC judges appointed by him, and the frenzied Media stirring the pot. Keep it boiling, it’s good misdirection, deep public concern, and GOP votes inside the Big Apple.
The 1.15 billion dollar military sale to Saudi Arabia is up for Congressional approval. It’ll easily pass. The bill supports an ‘Ally’ and the arms industry keeps humming with jobs and profit. We can’t go wrong. Saudi Arabia is a fanatically dedicated Sunni nation and I suspect some, a bit, of the arsenal may end up with a friendly ISL faction, but it will most surely be used to fight the Shiite rebels in Yemen.
So, readers you may assume the Middle East can eventually be wrapped up with hardy diplomatic cooperation a half dozen years. Think again. I lived in the Middle East for 14 and we’re talking decades.
Friction increases between India and Pakistan over Kashmir. Pakistan mostly over the Indian arms build-up, and of course Kashmir, while India wants complete unhindered domination of the beautiful fertile Kashmir Jewel.
Yes, another deadly threat to peace comes from Russia: They are deploying their one aircraft carrier to the Middle East. This is the vessel that breaks down so frequently tugs have to follow it around. Realistically, being real folks, the EU has 850 million people and growing, while Russia has a population of 168 million and shrinking. I’m concerned just how Uncle Sam can sleep at night with Russia’s menacing intimidation hanging over the U. S. A. and its vassal NATO.
All the Best.
Ron Miller.
