Greetings Readers,
Over many years dating back to my teens I have been soft-spoken of Russia and its controversial Soviet Union background. My early contention was, and still is, what are we doing meddling in Russian affairs? After all it’s their sphere of influence not ours. We should stay out of theirs and they out of ours. The U.S. has all of South America, Canada, Europe, and parts of Africa to play with, but I more than merely assume power and greed play a role.
Currently it appears Trump is planning to do just that. I would say it is basically a good idea as he warmly cuddles up to Putin. Putin seems to be getting more media airtime in the U. S. these days than even Trump. (Eventually that could mean two superpowers against one, China)
Perhaps Trump is committed to the obvious that of spheres of economic, political, and military influence do exist in the world today headed by the U. S., Russia, and China. Why fight them use them. There are only three that are significant. But we all fiddle and antagonize smaller ones. We guard the lake that is mostly known as Iran’s Persian Gulf. (World War II is over and oil has lost its luster) America is, or soon will be, an exporter of petroleum.
In the same region there is contention of influences clashing between Israel and Iran. In jest it is said ‘Every one of Israel’s 200 nuclear missiles are pointed at Iran and maps of targeting Iran are distributed to the Israel Defense force and be assumed to the pilots of the newly arrived F-35 fighter aircraft.
Another of minor important is the competition between Saudi Arabia and Iran over the Gulf. This has somewhat lost its importance in recent decades Saudis have by now several pipelines available south to Red Sea ports just in case the Gulf is sealed by war or other emergencies. The Saudis can always count on a couple million barrels which could be exported each day.
Trump says ‘Putin is smart not responding to Obama’s deportation of Russian Embassy Staff’ and waits for his new administration. Trump twits North Korea missiles will not reach our shores during my presidency as he deals with Kim Jong Un an egotistical suicidal nut-case.
Part of the forthcoming propaganda is FOx’s Israel-American Charles Krauthhammer who states there is a double standard, why are we not responding to Chinese hacking only Russia’s? Yes, Charles, we are picking on poor Putin’s Russia and the House of Stalin. Did the Chinese try to hack our election? The CIA, FBI report it was the Russians, but you won’t hear it from Trump, who says ‘No real Proof.’
Is this the beginning of a two superpowers against one conspiracy master plan? Seems logical to me. Russia is not a market with a mere 170 million population, but has the second most power nuclear force on the planet; Lesser so is China the largest consumer market with one point four billion people. Will the two superpowers conspire to economically and politically take down China and share the exploitation and spoils of the sleeping giant.
We shall see what we shall see as the future unfolds.
All the Best.
Ron
