      Greetings Readers,

Sanctions imposed on Iran again…. We’re going backwards. This matter is over two different size missile launches in the past four months. Never heard of an Israeli launched missile test flight have you, well they secretly test warheads and short-range rockets in the Indian Ocean.  Moreover, Israel could be testing launch components in the U. S. right along side of ours. It is only speculation, but during infrequent American launch tests Israel’s homegrown engineers are involved as ‘observers.’

Trump has signed for a review of the Dodd-Frank banking legislation. The legislation is already weak, weakened of course by the banking lobby.  I assume Trump wants further teeth taken out of surveillance and regulatory procedures the benefit of his Goldman Sachs buddies. What is needed is the return of the 1936 Glass-Sleagal bill that was legislated and approved under FDR. It protected the consumers for 66 years until the financially influential stepped in and had it their way.

My opinion is Obama played the Middle East power game correctly. That is stay out of turmoil as much as practicable and possible. It is a never-ending trap, a quagmire, therefore let the Muslims fight it out to settle their own political and religious differences. Presently four (4) civil wars are underway in the Middle East: the Turks and the Kurdish, Syria vs.the rebels, the Yemeni government against the Hougti, Iraq vs. the ISIS, and off-shoot ILS. The saddest part of this is they are all proxy wars with different or near different sponsors. The Israel-Palestine occupation is on the back burner as just another ordinary unresolved conflict. These civil wars and ethnic conflicts mentioned will not go way for decades if ever. Right at this time it does not matters who wins. Winners will likely be losers while soldiers and civilians die for their causes which are independence from each other. The Middle East, you can laugh until you cry.

Last evening about six on Batam Island, Indonesia we had a Breaking Flash News  on the screen, and remained on the screen for hours with updates, talking points, and runners. simultaneously Asia News Channel, Alzeera, BBC, CNN, FOx, France 24, and Uronews reported the pathetic story as much as they could in detail. The networks had the news on because I checked the channels. The whole world knew of the news. More than a day later the story continues to have legs. tomorrow and tomorrow we will be reading about the incident.  What is it?

We are talking here about one man unsuccessfully attacking five solders near the Paris Louvre with a machete and being shot in the stomach by one of the soldiers. Currently the culprit is hospitalized, one of the soldier sustained a minor sculpt wound. The attacker shouted ‘Allayu Akbar’ and therefore the attack was Muslim terrorist inspired. One lone-wolf and the entire world is immediately captured with the terrifying news.

I could go on with the many nauseating details, an Egyptian on a 30 day French visa, 27 years old, 250 tourist were guaranteed, and moved to a safe location,  Parliament my convene this evening, President Hollande commends the brave soldier, and on and on, but I won’t. Why this overkill of a one-man, a lone wolf, attack that failed?

There has not been a terrorist attack in Europe in weeks. (If you don’t count the Quebec, mosque massacre of six killed and eight wounded in Canada, they’re Muslims and seemingly don’t count)  It was a slow news week, and the media pounce on the story with all the vim and vigor they are known for. Unfortunately, over reporting as this adds to increased public fear of terrorism that is frequently overplayed for the benefit of governmental and media forces to scare people into submission and compliance by supporting and encouraging alarm and fright. It is the old story of keeping the pot boiling and people off-balance, in order to be compliant to governmental and security measures so they will overlook suppression and loss of liberty. It is the old Nazi adage, ‘Keep the public in fear and they’ll follow you anywhere.’ A terrorist under every bed? Public be aware.

      All the Best.

      Ron Miller

      • Correct figures are often elusive but from what I gather, since 9-11 only, take your choice, 105, 145, or 187 Americans have been killed by Muslim terrorist on American soil.
