Greeting Readers,
* Trump urges quick passage of his health care bill. Trump vows inclusion of payments for preexisting health conditions as insurance executive crap their pants.
Trump says Kim jong Un is a ‘Smart Cookie’ I can visualize basketball loving Kim Un now, as a translator reads those words to him. Buttons fly off his robust chest. Dictators and semi-to-be dictators like Donald Trump love flattery, admiration, and compliments. The kid want recognition and praise that he’s somebody ‘Extra Great.’
Trump say XI is an admired, respected Asian leader and believes the Chinese Chairman will eventually make Kim stop and desist in exploding technically advanced experimental nukes. Not too fast there Mr. President. XI desires peace and prosperity yes, but he has to deal with his war hawks too. China lost more than a million soldiers during the Korean War (Official figure 600,000) while protecting its boarders from a capitalist superpower and a potential southern puppet regime residing as a next door neighbor. IX may successfully argue that it was 67 years ago, and since borders do not matter as much as they once did in this age of long distance missiles, supersonic fighters – bombers, and nuclear submarines. Distance from and adversary is not quite the same in importance, and he would be correct. Concurrently though would we want Russian or Chinese military influence housed in Canada and Mexico. For the sake of continued prosperity XI may desert Kim on that account or will the drum beaters or war win out in the Chinese parliament.
(I find two critical deficiencies with China’s overall strategic position as a superpower: (1) They have only nominal oil resources and can be choked off from supply from the Middle East at the Strait of Malacca and the South China Sea. (2) China has no allies or colonies to do battle for them in case of all out war, while the U. S. has allies Japan, South Korea and semi-colonies. There is a good case to be made, the U. S. would not lose a soldier in a war with North Korea. China does have a potential supplier for its oil needs but thus far undeveloped that of Russia the second largest global oil producer and could provide during an emergency.
