    • A Wild but Interesting Comparison.

Posted at 11:56 am by ronaldstanleymiller, roguedinosur.wordpress.com, on January 21, 2018

      Greetings Readers,

I lived in a wonderful idyllic apartment complex in Indonesia. It had three spacious second floor bedrooms, open to the sun on three sides, a mango tree in the back, and I could walk out onto the terrace and count the ships passing or were anchored on the Malacca straits. Unfortunately, to my regret I sold the place.

Faced with evacuation and personal travel requirements the disposal of my rather small library was necessary. I mailed some of these books to relatives and friends, and gave away the majority to locals who could read English.

One of the volumes I cherished was a weighty coffee table volume of  great historic speeches. There were near a hundred of them from the illiterate Mohammed, to Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, to Washington’s farewell speech, Lincoln’s very short Gettysburg address, Martin Luther King, and JFK. Two of the speeches were give Adolphe Hitler, before his failed Munich Beer Garden Putsch and during his exciting, brutal climb to power.

I noticed when Hitler enthusiastically, aggressively you may say, spoke his words reminded of me of a current American political figure.

I will make Germany great again.

I will make Germany supreme again.

I will make Germany proud again

I will place Germans back to work again.

I will make Germany safe again.

After World War I and 20 years of excruciating economic hardship Hitler did all of that for his German people……for a time. Hitler was one of the most convincing and great orators in history. It is said that due to being  severely gassed on the battle field his voice had a distinct residence which captivated the political masses.

      All the Best to you.

    • I Guess You’ve Heard, a Shutdown

Posted at 3:19 am by ronaldstanleymiller, roguedinosur.wordpress.com, on January 21, 2018

      Greetings Readers,

By this time the world has heard the mightiest nation on the globe, the United States of America, has had a governmental shutdown. They use to say in my office and in the field under stressful pressure: “This too will come to pass”. And it will.

But what concerns me more that this political exercise, in a speech last Friday by Secretary of Defense Mathis, he stated, and I quote from several sources: ‘The Secretary of Defense unveiled a new defense strategy with the primary focus on China and Russia. Now that the threat of ISIS armies and terrorism has declined great power competition is the top priority’. I thought that was nicely put, but a little alarming don’t you think? We always seem to have an enemy and two is better for redirecting our attention Two.

When I was a young seaman in Asia during the mid-1950s we often stopped at Singapore, it was then I had the opportunity to see the most popular American singing group of the decade on tour, The Platters. Their most popular hit at the time was ‘Oh Yes, I’m the Great Pretender’. Shortly after I viewed them, I had an epiphany. I dreamed I saw Donald Trump as a child in short pants and curly blonde hair, and on awakening I said to myself  “That boy, that boy has great potential will be a multi-billionaire some day, and possibly even a president of the U.S.A.  Then I fast forwarded my thoughts to today, and I imagined Donald singing the Platter’s hit song:

Oh yes I’m the great Divider

                                               Pretending that I’m doing well

My need is such I pretend too much

I am lonely but no one can tell

Oh yes I’m the great Divider

Adrift in a world all my own

I play the game but to my real shame

You folks have left me to dream all alone

Oh yes, yes I’m the great Divider

Just laughing and gay like a clown

I seem to be what I am not, you see

I’m wearing my heart like a crown

      Pretending the Alt-Rights are around

      Pretending my voters are around

      Pretending Steve Bannon’s around

Pretending you’re all, all still around.

Actually Trump has got a pretty good singing voice.

      All the Best to you.
