Greetings Readers,
Taken from today’s Asian News channels or was it yesterday’s? No matter, history repeats itself often even in daily news bulletins. I hate to be an old foggy stick in the mud, but to me these three short runners appears to be the height of hypocrisy. “I can play in your playpen and you’d better not play in mine.” For a powerful nation like ours, the U. S., we meddle dangerously into every ones elses sphere and business, almost always in distant shores far from home.
The news items:
1. U. S. launches annual war games on NATO’s Eastern Front near Russian border.
(What if? The Russians launched annual maneuvers near or on the Texas-Mexican border? Hmm!)
2. U. S. to deploy more military patrols to the South China Sea. (Gen.Mattis)
(What if? The Chinese or the Russians were patrolling in the Caribbean or a little further south, around the Panama Canal ? Would the U. S. feel threaten? Naw, naw, we have nuclear weapons.
3. U. S. vetoes U.N. draft resolution to protect Palestinian lives.*
(Well at least we are not meddling in Israel’s business)a
*Conflicting casualty reports abound, but the best I could do was Israel Defense Force (IDF) of which questionably reports 40 Palestinians killed 5,511 injured the past two months. Palestinian reports deaths are in the 70s most shot by live fire.
All the Best to you.
